Questions or Concerns

My name is Guy Ouellette and Legal has been my home for the last 20 years. My wife Casandra and I have been married for 18 years and we have 7 beautiful children. I am currently working as a full time field Agent with the Knights of Columbus. I have been actively involved in the community since moving here in 2001. My family and I are strong believers in volunteerism and giving back to the community we live in. I have served as a team leader in youth ministry, was chair person for the Parish Council for 8 years and I am a member of the Knights of Columbus. I also help to clean and maintain the cemetery, assisted with building the gazebo, help with my children's sports and my family volunteers at the Fete au Village every year. Legal is our home and our family.

If I am elected:

  • I will work hard to keep Legal a safe, clean and vibrant community where people can live, raise their families and call our town their home.

  • I will make every effort to keep the taxes low and affordable.

  • I will strive to engage individuals and families who are new to our town and encourage volunteerism as one of the best ways to interact with and be part of our community. I will also continue to seek out ways to bridge the generational gap in our community through events that encourage participation and interaction of all ages.

  • I will listen to the concerns of the people of Legal and bring them to council's attention.

I have been active a s chairperson on the St. Emile parish council for 8 years. Council was responsible for decisions regarding maintenance, activities and programs, and also writing up contracts and agreements with other organizations.

My wife was a councillor for the town for one term and this gave me a bit of familiarity. I've read the roles of council in the election package and I am ready and motivated to learn more.

QUESTION 4: What are your goals and aspirations for Town of Legal?

My goals and aspirations for Legal are that it will continue to grow as a safe, welcoming and vibrant community. It is also my hope that in these crazy times we will not lose sight of the importance of providing support to community members of all ages, and that our strong foundation of volunteerism will continue to grow ever stronger.

QUESTION 5: What do you envision for the Town of Legal in the next 4 years and how would you achieve that?

Despite all that is going on in the world today we must keep our focus on growing out town by promoting the amazing services our town provides.

By continuously expanding our family friendly initiatives for example the library, the trails and the dog park.

By persistently trying to draw new businesses that will thrive and be a good fit for our town. In four years I would like Legal to still be an affordable place to live, for families and for those on a fixed income. We can do this by continuing to be fiscally responsible, not overspending and staying focused on things that are necessary and beneficial to the community.
